Taga Cordillera Kami

TCKI - Taga Cordillera Kami, Inc. is a non-governmental organization duly registered at SEC and bonafide member of Ang KaSaMa, Inc. of the Philippines.

The primary concerns and objectives of the organization are to strengthen and uphold the potentiality of the indigenous skills and rich cultural heritage in the Cordillera.

To help and coordinate the government agencies with its continuous programs on tourism industry, indigenous workshops and seminars, on various topics on healthcare, livelihood, cultural identity, and spiritual enlightenment.

Coordinate programs on various indigenous communities, residence and organizations of the Philippines for better comrade of brotherhood and godhood. A team working that will emphasize a national development and nationalistic improvement of our country.

 

Program and Activities

1. To promote the indigenous martial arts of the country, especially ARNIS (sakuting in Cordillera) that gained reputation outside the country. This initiation is in preparation of a bill in the congress adopting ARNIS as a national martial arts that will soon be included in major competition.

2. To educate and create awareness among the masses, consumers, and farmers that organic farming is one solution to the acidity and toxicity of farmland, quality of harvested products and to reduce or eliminate the chemical residue and synthetic input on farming.

3. Vegetarian health food products and market availability that concerns our daily needs, changing our lifestyle of food intake to ensure the continual healthy body and dynamic working behavior. Opening of vegetarian restaurant that would serve the cheapest menu, affordable price and health guaranteed.

4. For health awareness and occurrence of the diseases, we encourage complementary medicines that are cheap, effective and harmless to the body. Efficient clinic offers such as acupuncture, homeopathy, ayurvedic, and indigenous massage therapy.

5. To showcase the rich cultural heritage on different occasions of the Cordillera as well as marvelous places that could help tourism industry, by arranging local tour, cultural seminars and workshops, crafts and arts training, exhibits, indigenous song competition and composition.
